Nickell Robey snubs Bulldogs for Trojans
Four-star Florida defensive back Nickell Robey has chosen USC over Georgia and West Virginia. Robey committed to the Bulldogs last summer, but activity in recent months gave little evidence of strength to that verbal promise. Robey’s most recent visits included trips to West Virginia and Southern California. With his announcement on Tuesday, the Trojans will add speed to a rebuilding secondary.
His change of heart may be closely related to the changes at Georgia. The Bulldogs have hired a new defensive staff and are switching schemes in 2010. Though USC is also going through changes, theirs are apparently more enticing to lure the speedster from playing between the hedges to below the torch.
