Cushing, Matthews, Sanchez receive SN All-Rookie team honors

Three Trojans were selected in the first-round of last year’s draft, and three General Managers are more than satisfied with the results. Brian Cushing has already been named the NFL’s defensive rookie of the year, and the Texans Linebacker is penciled in for a Pro Bowl appearance in Miami. Clay Matthews will join him there, representing the Green Bay Packers on the Pro Bowl roster. Mark Sanchez is attempting to carve a different route to South Florida, with his Jets still very much alive and vying for a Super Bowl appearance.  It’s a trio from a common block that splintered into separate NFL cities.  And with their inaugural seasons winding to a close, they find themselves together again, honored by the Sporting News as members of the 2009 NFL All-Rookie Team.
