Kyle Prater set to enroll at USC
If recruiting was viewed as a nine inning baseball game, Pete Carroll would be the starting pitcher, Mike Garrett the struggling middle reliever, and Lane Kiffin is your closer. In just a matter of days, USC went from a program faltering on the trail to one prepared to finish with one final pitch. Pete Carroll’s quick exit left star recruits prepared to do the same. Lane Kiffin’s unexpected and speedy entrance will now record the save.
Kyle Prater was scheduled to enroll at USC this past Monday. The Illinois wide receiver never arrived, with his flight rerouted from the Under Armor All America game back to his hometown of Hillside. Pete Carroll was gone, and so was his commitment. His new list included a program that sparked early interest before the Trojans became his future choice. It was Tennessee, coached by Lane Kiffin.
Yesterday’s news of Kiffin leaving the Vols for the Trojans reserved another airline ticket, and for the second time in the past two weeks, Prater is schedule to arrive in Los Angeles and enroll at USC. The hiring is also comforting, in regard to Jesse Scroggins, a quarterback that committed to Pete Carroll, but originally snubbed Tennessee in doing so.
