Season ends for Rey Maualuga

The Bengals got more than they could have asked for, when drafting Rey Maualuga in the second round out of USC.  The rookie started 14 games, held his own as a first year player, and was one of the main ingredients to a unit ranked the NFL’s third best against the run.  But in game No. 15 against the Kansas City Chiefs, everything comes to an end.  Maualuga will likely miss the remainder of the regular season and playoffs with a fractured ankle.

The former Trojan finishes with 58 tackles, 3 forced fumbles and a sack.  Keith Rivers failed to complete his rookie season with the Bengals a year ago, after having his jaw broken on a blindside hit by Steelers receiver Hines Ward.
