Damian Williams to declare for the NFL draft

He hasn’t made a formal announcement, but sources close to the situation are expecting Damian Williams to forego his final year of eligibility and declare for the upcoming NFL draft.

As much as I’d love to see the Trojans’ top receiver stick around for another one, this would be the correct decision. Williams’ playmaking abilities make him a definite early round selection, and pre-draft events will allow an opportunity to solidify first-round placement.

There’s a lot of indications (he is going pro) because he graduated,” USC coach Pete Carroll said Tuesday. “We’re talking about it. We haven’t had a serious meeting yet. His parents have been around here a lot.”--Daily News

If sources prove to be correct, Williams will play his final game for USC this weekend. And his won’t be the only announcement, as I’m sure there will be other underclassmen that follow.
