Broderick Green awaits NCAA decision
Two Trojans, two aling relatives, and two transfers that led to waiting games. Vidal Hazelton’s status has already been decided in Cincinnati, with the NCAA denying immediate eligibility and disallowing 2009 game participation. Broderick Green took his power running and high stepped his way back to his home state of Arkansas, where both he and coach Bobby Petrino await a decision on his fate.
Of the two tranfers requesting a waiver, Green presents the better case. Hailing from Little Rock Arkansas, choosing Fayetteville and the Arkansas Razorbacks is more sensible than Hazelton’s Cincinnati choice, when his ailing grandfather resides in Georgia.
Green’s current status allows him to practice with his new program, but with talent comparable to Louisville’s Michael Bush of Petrino’s previous college coaching gig, he’d love to have full use of the incoming back by the season’s kickoff.
“He can be a full-time tailback,” Petrino said. “He’s big and is a great pass protector. He can catch the ball out of the backfield and he’s certainly very powerful.”–Wholehogsports.com
