Darreus Rogers academically cleared
Wide receiver Darreus Rogers has been academically cleared and is now eligible to participate in USC football functions. Rogers was rated a 4-star recruit out of Carson High School, and committed to the Trojans class of 2012 in February.
The delay is a result of the freshman having to retake a class that did not clear, which caused him to miss fall camp and the season opener. The 6-2, 195-pound dynamic pass-catcher will add depth to an already talented group of wide receivers. Junior Robert Woods and sophomore Marqise Lee are locked atop the depth chart, but Rogers will be allowed the opportunity to battle his way into the rotation.
Rogers recorded 64 receptions for 1251 yards and 8 touchdowns as a senior at Carson, averaging 19.55 yards per catch. He chose USC over Arizona State for his collegiate home.
