Max Redfield adds name to already stellar class
Just days after the Trojans moved to the top of recruiting rankings with the commitment of cornerback Jalen Ramsey, the class receives another four-star defensive back to solidify its July position.
Mission Viejo’s Max Redfield became the 16th commitment to the 2013 class, giving a strong verbal to Lane Kiffin and staff. The Safety, ranked among the nation’s elite, received his first college offer from USC last December. And for the moment, he appears to be all-in with the Trojans.
Redfield is a former teammate of current Trojan Tre Madden, but says the top recruiter to the program was another 2013 commit, Su’a Cravens.
“Su’a has been my primary recruiter for USC. I would list him as one of the biggest reasons I chose USC. I’m excited to play with him and experience college together with a good friend.”
The 6’3, 195-pound safety received offers from major programs across the country, and Oregon was rumored to be high on the list. His commitment casts a vision of a future defensive backfield that will consists of some of the highest rated players in the country to patrol against high-powered Pac 12 pass attacks.
Redfield’s commitment was the second on Wednesday, with Casey Tucker pledging for the class of 2014. The 6’6, 275-pound offensive lineman became the third to join that class, informing coaches early this morning.
