Nation’s top rated safety pledges USC
A local kid decides to stay home.
Su’a Cravens set June 6th as the target date for his college announcement, and by the end of the day he was Trojan committed. The nation’s top rated safety gave a verbal pledge to the University of Southern California, after receiving offers from some of the top programs in the country.
“I felt like I was home. I’ve been there 100 times and feel they have a clear-cut plan for me.”
The plan may not be as clear cut as it seems, being that the 6’2, 210-pound prospect excels at so many positions. He is rated by both Rivals and Scout as a 5-star safety, but also makes for a talented outside linebacker and running back.
Cravens received offers from 2011 BCS champion Alabama and USC rival Notre Dame. Though committed, he still intends to take visits to other schools, which would include Michigan and Ohio State.
Cravens currently attends Vista Murrieta High School and is the eighth commitment to the USC class of 2013.
