Nation’s second-ranked running back commits to USC
Southern California will enter the 2012 football season thin in the backfield, but has already received good news for 2013. Ty Isaac of Joliet Catholic in Illinois has verbally committed to Lane Kiffin and USC. The 6’3, 215 pound prospect is ranked second nationally at his position by rivals.com, and received offers from a multitude of BCS programs.
Isaac announced his college choice on twitter, and would later state the level of education and tradition (Tailback U) as major factors in his decision. The Illinois native made a campus visit with his parents recently, and from there the options were narrowed to one.
The running back received national recognition and rose in the rankings following a 26 carry, 515 yard performance in the state 5A championship game, where he also added 6 touchdowns in the loss. He becomes USC’s sixth commitment to the 2013 class.
